Johanna Konta reached her first final of the season by outlasting Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic 6-2, 7-6 (7) on Friday in the semifinals of the Grand Prix de SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem at Rabat, Morocco.

The win over the fourth-seeded Tomljanovic gives the seventh-seeded Brit four consecutive victories on a clay-court surface for the first time since 2008. She will face sixth-seeded Maria Sakkari of Greece in the title match.

Sakkari, 23, knocked off eighth-seeded Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium 6-4, 6-4 to reach her second career WTA singles final and first of this season.

This will be the second meeting between Konta and Sakkari. Konta, 27, won the first, 6-4, 6-1 in the first round of Wimbledon in 2017.
