Yanks beat the Mets in subway poll

The results are in: This city is a Yankees town.

According to HopStop, the subway directions search engine, 68 percent of all searches for baseball directions in New York were to Yankee Stadium.

That left Citi Field as the ending point for just 32 percent of searches.

But the beleaguered Mets still retain a few neighborhoods with strong support – or at least a lot of people needing directions.

“Outside of a few proud pockets, New York is Yankeeville for now,” HopStop concluded in its report after studying searches between March 31, Major League Baseball’s opening day, and June 26.

The survey did admit that some of the biggest ball fans might not need directions.

The stadiums’ home boroughs revealed strong support, with the Bronx’s North Riverdale hosting the most searches for Yankee Stadium and Pomonok in Queens as the neighborhood where people most often wanted directions to Citi Field. Bronx has near-full support for the Yankees; for example, in North Riverdale, not one person searched for directions to Citi Field. Sorry, Mr. Met.
