Yoga jeans equal super comfort

Yoga Jeans are not jeans to wear in yoga class.

Made from brushed cotton denim with three per cent elastane, they’re super stretchy so they’d be far more comfortable for downward dog than you’d expect — and the waistband won’t gape.

But with their deep, inky washes and flattering fit that make legs look miles long and lean, Yoga Jeans will work better with that hot top you bought to wear on Saturday night.

Cut in mid- and low-rise skinny, straight, flare and boot-cut styles, as well as an ankle-length summer pant, Yoga Jeans (about $110) are the hottest pants in town. Made by Canadian company Second Clothing, they have a 92 per cent shape memory versus the industry standard of 64 per cent, which means zero sagging in the butt or knees.

That stretch factor also makes the skinny jeans more comfortable behind the knees (one happy customer demonstrated with deep-knee bends for her co-workers). The aforementioned waistband is another marvel: Constructed of six individual pieces, it seriously won’t gape when you bend or do the plow pose.

Yoga Jeans come in sizes 24 to 34 and with an inseam that can hit 33 in the larger sizes. They’re available at Jean Machine, theshoppingchannel.com and at shopgirls.ca. (Shopgirls exclusively carries the new high-rise boot cut for the anti-muffin-top crew). The brand is set to hit the U.S. and Europe this fall.
