You know you want it: Spring boots!

Spring is here! But with the ground still wet from melting snow and the rains coming down, it’s all we can do to keep our feet warm and dry.

Nothing does that better than the Wellington boot. Popularized by the first Duke of Wellington in the early 19th century, these boots became fashionable among the British aristocracy. Now, everyone can get a pair:

• The Shoe Company sells children’s boots in khaki camouflage, green alligators, pink snails, and black with skull and cross bones, $18.99-$26.99.

• They also carry women’s waterproof rainboots in black with dots, or white with multi-coloured flowers, $34.99.

• Getoutside at 3456 Yonge St., and 437 Queen W., carries several types of rainboot. Nomad’s mid-calf version, $49, comes in fuchsia with lilac polka dots, black with white polka dots, black and white plaid print, solid black, red and black with yellow accent tartan, or tan and rose plaid; Cougar sport’s flat-soled style, $49, comes in bright yellow, purple, red, kelly green, black, and cranberry; Chooka’s mid-calf boot comes in red and black argyle, red with yellow ducks, navy or lime green with big white and yellow daisies, charcoal with chains and charms, and black and white houndstooth, $69; Treetorn’s short calf-length boot comes in lavender, olive green, black, navy, or bright yellow, $69. And the classic Hunter boot, almost knee-high, comes in bubblegum pink, Hunter green, black, navy, cherry red, or traffic light yellow, $129.
