Not to be outdone by Taylor Swift’s Internet-breaking announcement, Katy Perry released the music video for her hit song “Swish Swish” on Thursday morning. The basketball-themed clip features appearances by quite a few famous faces, but one in particular should look familiar to New England fans.
That’s right Patriots nation, tight end Rob Gronkowski has a short cameo in this “Space Jam” gone wild project. Unfortunately there’s no Gronk twerking in the music video, so don’t expect to see him strut his stuff.
The Super Bowl champion wasn’t the only star featured in the “Swish Swish” clip, as a host of other big names also pitched in for Perry’s video. Nicki Minaj, “Saturday Night Live” alum Molly Shannon, actor Terry Crews, the ladies of GLOW, Doug the Pug, “Stranger Things” star Gatan Matarazzo and a boat-load of other celebrities joined in on the fun.
And yes, Russel “Backpack Kid” Horning and his fan-favorite dance moves were also involved.
This isn’t the first time Gronk has hung out with a pop star this summer. The Patriots star helped Demi Lovato party with fans in Lynnfield last month at a special house performance.
