Uber is great for riders looking for a quick ride, right now, but Boston riders will soon have a way of booking their transport in advance, too.

The ridesharing app unveiled the new feature for Boston riders with business accounts on Wednesday, allowing customers to request an UberX car anytime from 15 minutes to 30 days ahead of the ride.

A statement from Uber said the company incorporated the feature into the app after receiving a high number of customer requests for it.

“This is the top-requested feature from our riders, especially for times like early morning trips to the airport,” Uber said in a statement. “While we pride ourselves on providing on-demand rides, we understand that when you have to be somewhere at a specific time, it’s nice to have the assurance a ride will be available when you need it.”

Customers will receive a reminder notification both 24 hours and 30 minutes in advance of the scheduled pickup, including information about any surge pricing that might be in effect.

Those without business accounts will see the service roll out over the next few weeks, the company said.
