Dwight Howard could again be calling the state of Florida home as the Heat could very well be interested in making a trade for the disgruntled Houston Rockets star.
"It makes so much sense, in fact, that I will go so far as to predict that Howard will be wearing a Miami Heat uniform by the end of February," Chris Sheridan of SheridanHooops.com reported this week.
Sheridan's story goes on to talk about how the Heat have been trying to get the Kings to give up DeMarcus Cousins in a deal. Reportedly on the table are Hassan Whiteside and rookie Justise Winslow. In other words, Miami will stop at nothing to get another veteran star player to place alongside Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. They desperately want to get back into the title picture soon, while Wade is still in something resembling his prime.
The Celtics will, of course, be mentioned in any and every potential mega-deal given the amount of draft picks they own and solid, cap-friendly players on their current roster. Celtics boss Danny Ainge at least appeared interest in landing Howard during the summer of 2013 and there have never been any shortage of Cousins-to-Boston rumors. Oh, and remember how hard Ainge pushed to try and draft Winslow this past summer?
If a mega-deal involving these players goes down, the Celtics will surely be in on the talks.
"Chicago and Boston also are actively making offers for Cousins," Sheridan wrote.
