Planning your night ahead? The MBTAhas announced its T service for New Year’s Eve.
The Red, Blue, Orange and Green Lines will be operating at rush-hour levels of service — meaning extra cars — throughout the evening from 3 p.m. until about 2 a.m.
Buses will operate on a normal weekday schedule, as will the Silver Line.
The MBTA will not collect fares after 8 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. (Yes, that means you ride for free.) However, MBTA parking garages, as well as the Wellington parking lot, are pay-on-entry/cash only on New Year’s Eve.
