The New England Revolution are moving on to the MLS Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 2007 thanks to their 3-1 victory over the Columbus Crew Sunday at Gillette Stadium. The 3-1 win coupled with the Revs’ 4-2 win over the Crew the previous weekend in Columbus, allowed New England to advance with relative ease.

Lee Nguyen continued his hot streak, popping in the Revs’ first goal Sunday night, while Jose Goncalves and Teal Bunbury also found the net. Bobby Shuttleworth made six saves in the New England victory.

The Revs now turn their attention to the New York Red Bulls, which knocked off top-seeded D.C. United this past weekend. The two teams will not tangle until Nov. 23 at Red Bull Arena, which will be the first leg of another aggregate series. The second leg will take place at Gillette Stadium the weekend after Thanksgiving.
