Police are currently investigating a shooting that took place shortly after noon on Monday outside John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science.

“Around 12:15 we had reports of someone shot here,” Commissioner Evans told reporters at the scene. “On our arrival the officers discovered a young 16-year-old shot in the leg.”

Evans added that the victim looked as though they would be fine.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was taken to a nearby hospital while investigators continued their search for the suspect who escaped on a bicycle, The Boston Globe reports.
