Six days ago a video was posted to Facebook (VERY strong language, NSFW) that displayed a rat scurrying inside the restaurant China Sea located at 1202 Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan.
Boston Inspectional Service temporarily shut down the restaurant shortly after the video went online.
Food services suspended the restaurant after an inspection on the 29th of last month. The inspection report says that other than the rat problem, there were more than 20 health violations that could not be overlooked, including rodent droppings in the main kitchen, improper thawing methods and cross contamination problems. Inspectors also found cooked egg rolls kept in a cardboard box where raw chicken had been stored.
It is unknown when the restaurant will reopen.
