Woman struck and killed by truck while crossing street in Hingham

A woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck Monday morning shortly after leaving Hingham District Court, authoritiessaid.

Heidi Folsom, 56, of Bridgewater, was hit just after 11 a.m. as she tried to cross George Washington Boulevard. She wastreated for serious injuriesat the scene and taken to South Shore Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, a spokeswoman for the PlymouthCounty District Attorney’s Office said.

Police said Folsom was struck by a Ford F-350 pickup truck. The 23-year-old driver stopped after the crash and remained on the scene. His name was not released.

State Police is investigating the crash, as are the district attorney’s office and Hingham Police.
