Christina Aguilera will resume her coaching duties on “The Voice” next season. She’ll replace Shakira, who occupied the spinny chair of judgment during the fourth season. Aguilera was absent last season to promote her album, “Lotus,” according to Hollywood Life.

That wasn’t the only shakeup on the latest season of “The Voice”: Usher also replaced original host Cee-Lo Green. So will Cee-Lo be back too, or is Usher a permanent coach now? And what of Blake Shelton and Adam Levine? No word yet on whether we’ll be seeing more new judges or a return to the original lineup in season five, but producer Mark Burnett suggests the coaching roster will always be in flux. “Everybody can’t coach for life because when you have people with current recordings in the game, this is not their job,” he says.

One thing seems certain: We’ll continue to hear far, far more about the superstar coaches of “The Voice” than, you know, the actual contestants.

Shakira and Usher made their debut on the season premiere of the singing competition back in March with a group performance of The Beatles’ “Come Together.” Maybe for Shakira’s last episode they’ll go with “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
