Cast of ‘Friends’: Where are they now?

The time has come. The cast of Friends will come together for a reunion that will air on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 9 p.m. The show was created to honor sitcom director James Burrows who recently directed his 1000th television episode. Burrows directed 15 episodes of Friends.

While many of us were looking forward to seeing Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer on the same stage reliving fun times from the past, TIME reported Matthew Perry is unable to attend because he is rehearsing for his play, “The End of Longing.”

The first episode of Friends aired in September 1994. The show aired on NBC for 10 years and the final episode was in May 2004.

Jennifer Aniston

Character: Rachel Green

Since “Friends” ended, Aniston was in several box office hits including “Bruce Almighty,” “The Break-Up,” “Marley & Me,” “Just Go with it,” “Horrible Bossies,” and “We’re the Millers.”

She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012 and is considered one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.

Courteney Cox

Character: Monica Geller

While Courtney Cox will forever be known for her role as Monica, she also appeared in films including “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “The Runner,” and “3000 Miles to Graceland.”

In 2009, she starred in ABC’s “Cougar Town.” Since then, she has made several cameo appearacnes in films and television programs and has worked with her former “Friends” co-star Lisa Kudrow in a web series called “Web Therapy.”

Matthew Perry

Character: Chandler Bing

Ever since “Friends” ended in 2004, Matthew Perry has stayed busy. In 2006 he landed a lead role in the short-lived comedy series “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.” He also had a role as an elementary school teacher in the film “The Ron Clark Story.”

These days, he’s busy working on his play in London, and unfortunately won’t be able to attend the special “Friends” cast reunion.

Lisa Kudrow

Character: Phoebe Buffay

After “Friends,” Lisa Kudrow produced a web series for Showtime called “Web Therapy “in 2011. She also wrote and acted in her show “The Comeback” on HBO. Aside from television roles, she has appeared in many films including “Dr. Dolittle,” “Happy Endings,” “Hotel for Dogs,” and “Neighbors.”

Last year, Taylor Swift brought her on stage and surprised thousands of fans as they performed the song “Smelly Cat” from “Friends.”

Matt LeBlanc

Character: Joey Tribbiani

After “Friends” ended, NBC created a spin-off show called “Joey,” but it only lasted for two seasons. In 2011, he stared in a show called “Episodes” that is currently on BBC Two and Showtime.

David Schwimmer

Character: Ross Geller

David Schwimmer has been busy after “Friends” ended in 2004. In 2005, he did some voiceover work as the character Melman in the animated movie franchise “Madagascar.”Schwimmer also appeared in other films including “Big Nothing,” and “Nothing But the Truth.”

Many people recognize him for his current role as Robert Kardashian in the FX original series “The People v. O.J. Simpson.”
