Life is full of regrets, and here is a good, hilarious one, if only because it’s not happening to you.

Instead, it’s happening to Lady Gaga, who decided to commemorate her much-touted Grammys duet with Metallica ~forever~ by getting a giant skull-headed moth on her back. The design is a tribute to Metallica’s 2016’s “Hardwired … to Self-Destruct” track “Moth into Flame,” which they performed earlier this evening. Unfortunately, the live duet was foiled by James Hetfield’s non-working mic, leaving Gaga to writhe and jump through flames on her own.

Sadly, he did not pull an Adele and just ask everyone to start over.

While Billboard muses that the new ink may be fake, we think it’s much funnier to think this was a fabulous instance of jumping the gun.
