Remember when singing a song in a commercial was the worst thing a band could do?
No? Yeah, it has been a while since that was taboo. We can probably point to late 2010 as the time when it became acceptable, and so we accept, nay embrace that your favorite indie twins, Tegan & Sara are singing the “Wonderfilled” anthem in an Oreo commercial that will air during the Grammys.
Oh, and the folks at Oreo are also excited about their new Cookie Dough and Marshmallow Crispy flavors.
The cookie company also promises that at the end of the commercial, Oreo will reveal a one-time-only, top-secret hashtag. Fans with the fastest thumbs who tweet the hashtag could get a free first taste of Cookie Dough or Marshmallow Crispy Oreo cookies, while supplies last.
Fans of Tegan & Sara can catch them on the road this summer opening for Katy Perry. That would have been shocking a few years ago too!
