The ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ trailer is here and it is awesome

After initially leaking online, the trailer for next spring’s much-anticipated “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is officially here. And there is quite a lot of action packed into its two minutes and sixteen seconds. While Marvel has been keeping fans satisfied with stand-alone films like “Iron Man 3,” “Thor: the Dark World” and “Captain America: Winter Soldier,” the main event is obviously the follow-up to 2012’s “the Avengers.” Writer-director Joss Whedon is back in charge, and from the looks of things, Loki was nothing compared to Ultron, the new foe threatening the super-team and the world at large.

That new villain, a robot (voiced by James Spader) that was built by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), takes center stage for the first time in the trailer, with chilling narration over shots of chaos, destruction and our heroes looking not so triumphant — all set to a rather spooky rendition of “I’ve Got No Strings” from “Pinocchio.” By the looks of things, the Avengers are having enough trouble dealing with each other, if Tony Stark’s Hulk-buster Iron Man suit featured in the trailer is any indication. May 1, 2015 can’t come fast enough.
