The Word: The gross keepsake Jennifer Aniston made Justin Theroux ditch

A sign of affection, or a hint at a baby bump? Whatever Jen (in Valentino) and Justin were doing, they looked hot doing it. Justin Theroux had to be rid of some weird stuff, like most guys.

Jennifer Aniston’s fiance Justin Theroux has some weird stuff. A dish of human teeth (“People often think they’re little mints.”) A photograph of a live dude with an iron bar through his head. Little tongue depressors with beards and googly eyes, made by Amy Sedaris.

Jennifer Aniston is apparently cool with the teeth and the impaled gentleman. But, he told GQ, as she and Theroux prepare their Hollywood manse for their impending nuptials, she draws the line at the grossest of his possessions: a collection of model syphilitic throats.

“I have these beautiful wax-museum pieces — handmade, from the 1800s — from a museum of curiosities. They’re just these open mouths, with tongues, and in the throats are different stages, labeled, of syphilis and gonorrhea and whatever.”

“Those definitely found a great place in my office in L.A.,” Theroux said. “They weren’t going to be above the fireplace anytime soon.”

What? But you could do such a cute little symmetrical arrangement! Syphilitic throat, Emmy for “Friends,” syphilitic throat. And then on the end table a mixed dish of mints and teeth.
