J.Crew teamed up with New Balance to launch activewear

J.Crew and Brighton-based New Balance are celebrating their new women’s active collaboration in a big way. The 20-piece debut — featuring bright, spunky, color-blocked sneakers, sporty separates and undergarments — will be offered at 37 J.Crew locations worldwide, including Boston and New York City stores, and online.

Call it athleisure if you must, but New Balance x J.Crew wants you to know it’s made to kick butt — featuring the likes of Muay Thai boxer Gracie Carvalho, SoulCycle instructor Taye Johnson and the Class founder Taryn Toomey in the campaign. According to J.Crew’s head of women’s design, Somsack Sikhounmuong, the collection represents “a palette of J.Crew color and classic sensibility with New Balance know how and expertise.”

Prices range from $15 to $200 and arrive in selectedlocations (including NYC’sColumbus Circle and Boston’sCopley Place)plus five New Balance flagships) today. These boutiqueswill alsohost kick-off celebrations to showcase the collection today, with healthful snacks and free passes to local fitness classes on the house.
