No Thanksgiving spread would be complete without mashed potatoes. But if you’re trying to cut your salt intake, they can be a dangerous addition to your dinner. Try this recipe created by “The Biggest Loser” chef Devin Alexander that features LoSalt, a reduced sodium salt that is huge in the U.K. Learn what the fuss is all about with Alexander’s mashed potatoes recipe.

Rosemary Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
LoSalt for boiling potatoes
1 pound red-skinned potatoes, washed and cut into 1-inch cubes
3 tablespoons light cream cheese
2 tablespoons fat free milk
1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary leaves
1/2 teaspoon LoSalt
Pinch garlic powder

Cook potatoes in a large pot of boiling water laced with LoSalt until tender, about 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, using a hand mixer in a medium mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and milk on low speed until well combined.

Drain the cooked potatoes and transfer to the bowl with the cream cheese. Beat in the potatoes, rosemary, LoSalt and garlic until combined and leaving some lumps. Serve immediately.

Makes about 4 servings.
