Face it, there’s no time to run home after work to get ready for a party during holiday season. But that doesn’t mean you want to show up to the office at 9 a.m. with a face full of makeup or lug a giant cosmetics bag around. Bobbi Brown makeup artist Cassandra Garcia shows us how to get glam on the go.

Statement lip

“The first step is to pick your focus,” says Garcia. Are you a bright lip girl? “Then add a red lipstick at the end of the day,” she suggests. “It will instantly change your look.” To finish, Garcia says to apply a complementary blush. “It balances out the look,” she explains. “You see some women who just put on the dark lip — and it’s like, ‘whoa.’”

Sparkle

If eyes are your focus, bring on the glittery shadow. “It really opens your eyes up and looks super party and super holiday,” says Garcia, adding that makeup guru Bobbi Brown loves Sparkle Shadow. “She calls it ‘diamond earrings for your eyes.’”

Complete the look by applying a little eyeliner and another coat of mascara at the end of the day.

The most important step
Get rid of any evidence that you’ve already been to three parties earlier in the week with a quick swipe of concealer under your eyes. Garcia tells us the dos and don’ts.

Base layer To stop your concealer from getting too cake-y, apply a very thin layer of eye cream first, says Garcia: “We get those lines under our eyes because we’re a little dry and a little textured under there.” But avoid heavy cream because “nothing sticks onto it.”

Application Depending on the time and tools you have, either tap in the concealer or apply it with a brush,” says Garcia. Here’s how: Glide the concealer under the eye. Start by putting it in the inner corner and sweep it up to the lash line. Then tap it in with your finger. “When you’re tapping, the warmth of your finger just melts the concealer into your skin,” she says.
