The halfway point of Fashion Month, which we are now at, is around about the time fashion folks start talking about trends. Now this can be premature — one neon-skirted prom dress does not a trend make, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. But one thing we can say with certainty is that this fall you will be wearing pink. Or at least designers will be trying to make you.
The trend that has been doing the rounds in street style galleries and on catwalks for a couple of seasons shows no signs of slowing down, however much our enthusiasm for pink coats might be waning. For fall the feminine color slouched over models at Derek Lam and bundled them up at Topshop Unique; it dominated Kaelen’s outing, softened Milly’s off duty ballerinas, screeched onto the Fyodor Golan runway and enfolded models in faux fur, shearling and wool at Ralph Lauren.
