Sure there was cleavage everywhere you turned, slits so high stars skipped wearing undies and gowns with cutouts galore during last night's MTV Video Music Awards, but the trend that caught our attention and was the simple black bandeau. At once vampy, elegant and effortless, the top was seen on starts such as Miley Cyrus, Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn.
Opting for a more demure look than that last year, Cyrus — who picked up the Video of the Year award for "Wrecking Ball" — chose Alexandre Vauthier's leather bandeau and high-waist pants from the fall 2014 couture show. Jenner's Alon Livne bralet was covered with a mesh overlay and the reality-star-tuned-model also wore the brand's chic high-waist trousers. Dunn's toned abs were the perfect accessory to her Balmain tube top and long flared skirt.
All three ladies kept the rest of their look simple with natural makeup and understated accessories.
