Two men have been killed in shootings over the weekend, with one man gunned down on the Lower East Side and another killed in Boerum Hill.
An unidentified 30-year-old man was shot three times in the torso in front of the Smith Houses on St. James Place early on Sunday morning, police said. He was taken to New York Downtown Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
On Friday night, 43-year-old William Jordan was discovered at 572 Warren Street with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at Methodist Hospital. Three other men received minor injuries in the incident.
No arrests have been made in either shooting. Investigations are ongoing.
The deaths followed a 24-hour-period without any gun violence or stabbings across the city, only the second such peaceful window in the space of a year.
