A 59-year-old woman was hit by a SEPTA train this morning at the 5th Street Station on the Market-Frankford Line, officials said.
The woman was hit around 11 a.m. on the westbound tracks and was found underneath the train, said SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch.
Her name and the extent of her injuries have not yet been revealed.
“We’re still looking at it to determine whether it was an accident or a suicide,” Busch said. “We do know that there was no foul play involved.”
The El was shutdown for about an hour as workers attended to the woman. Shuttle bus service was provided.
