The girlfriend of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez is due in court Wednesday.
WFSB Connecticut reports Shayanna Jenkins is charged with perjury in connection with the murder charge against Hernandez.She previously pleaded not guilty to the charges, which allege she lied to the grand jury about disposing of evidence, and was released by authorities.
The defense claims there is no evidence that Jenkins actually lied.
Hernandez is pleading not guilty on charges related to the murder of Odin Lloyd.
Meanwhile, Hernandez’s cousin Tanya Singletonappeared in court less than two weeks ago on charges of criminal contempt and conspiracy to commit accessory after the fact for allegedly helping Hernandez’s “right-hand man” Ernest Wallace journey to Florida after Lloyd’s murder. She is being held without bail.
