The suspects who allegedly robbed a Weymouth bank after Googling ‘What happens if you rob a bank.’

People have come to rely on the Internet for many things, and a South Shore trio proved that recently when they searched “What happens if you rob a bank” before allegedly pulling off their own robbery.
Weymouth police said on Monday that detectives arrested Robert Owens, 28, Sarah McLoud, 27, both of Weymouth, and Daniel Murphy, 30, of Quincy, for their roles in the robbery.
Officers were called to Weymouth Bank about 10:45 a.m. Friday on a report of a robbery. Witnesses told police a blonde woman came into the bank, demanded money, told the teller not to give her a dye pack and said no one would get hurt. She then fled with an undetermined amount of cash. Police said witnesses told them the woman was in the area of the bank with a man just before the robbery.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video from the bank and detectives recognized the woman as McLoud, who was a suspect in another investigation involving heroin dealing, police said.
Police went to the home they were targeting as part of the drug investigation, arresting McLoud and Owens. Police said Owens was an accomplice in the planning of the robbery and McLoud’s escape.
During a search of the home, police found the clothes McLoud wore during the robbery as well as packaged heroin. They said they also found a computer in the room.
“A computer in the room showed recent searches including: ‘What happens if you rob a bank,’ ‘What happens if you rob a house,’ ‘What happens if you rob a drug dealer,’ and ‘If you’re going to rob a bank,'” police said.
During their investigation, police learned that Murphy allegedly drove the escape car during the robbery. He was arrested on Saturday.
The three suspects are all due to be arraigned in court on Tuesday.
