Citing its popularity and attendance of tens of thousands of music fans, organizers of the Boston Calling Music Festival said the event will return to City Hall Plaza for another show next year.

Boston Calling organizers said on Wednesday that the two-day festival will take place on Memorial Day weekend next year, which is May 24 and 25. A lineup has not yet been announced.

“While bands will not be announced for a few months, ticket buyers can count on a strong weekend of music similar in style to May’s debut festival,” organizers said in an email.

The event has quickly become a tradition in the Hub and next year’s event will be the third Boston Calling festival to take place in a year.

Just last weekend Boston Calling wrapped up its fall festival which brought acts like Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, Kendrick Lamar and Major Lazer to downtown Boston. The spring festival featured The National and Fun.

Organizers said that to show appreciation to the festival’s fans, “super early bird” tickets would go on sale at a discount on Thursday.
