Boston under water?

Climate change is causing sea levels to rise so dramatically that Boston could be under water one day, according to UMass Boston’s Dr. Ellen Douglas.

Douglas will present new Sea Level Rise Maps at a free public forum today at the Moakley Courthouse.

Water expanding in increasingly warmer oceans and melting glaciers are causing sea levels to slowly rise.

“If we get a large storm rising on top of that it could cause extensive flooding,” Douglas said.
