Brooklyn teacher Esran Boothe accused of sexual abuse

Another schoolteacher has been arrested on sexual abuse charges.

Cops said Esran Boothe, 49, was arrested at 10 a.m. today and charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse in the third degree.

Boothe was a teacher at the Brooklyn Academy of Science and the Environment for much of the time since he was appointed as a teacher in 2003.

He had no prior investigations or allegations, said Department of Education spokeswoman Marge Feinberg.

Booth was reassigned away from the classroom March 16, Feinberg said, after the alleged incident last week.

“We have been crystal clear about the consequences for this kind of behavior,” Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott said. “A staff member who violates the trust of our students and families does not deserve to work in our schools—period. Anyone who does will be removed and we will do everything in our power to make sure they never work here again.”
