City sued after snow death

BROOKLYN – The family of a Brooklyn woman who died during the Dec. 27 snowstorm that shut down the city filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against New York yesterday. On Dec. 27, Lillie Cockburn, 56, was found by her son, Jason, semiconscious on the floor in her apartment on Tompkins Avenue. He called 911 and waited hours for an ambulance to arrive, which never did. By the time Jason drove his mother to Interfaith Hospital, it was too late. This is the second lawsuit filed against the city for a death in the snowstorm.
