Cops seek serial subway mugger

NEW YORK. The NYPD is searching for a man suspected of at least three
knifepoint robberies of female subway riders in upper Manhattan during
the last two months.

The suspect, who was caught on security camera, struck his latest
victim, a 27-year-old waitress, as she exited the No. 2 train at 96th
Street and Broadway around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. When she tried to hold
onto her bag, he stabbed her in the torso. She is expected to recover.

Police suspect the man mugged a woman leaving the A train at 127th
Street at 7:35 p.m. on Aug. 7; and stole a woman’s purse on an uptown A
train at Broadway and Dyckman Street at 3:25 a.m. on Aug. 27.
