If you’ve been looking for that one special pooch to bring into your loving home, meet Lina. Or Sugar. Or Ronaldino.

They’ve been through a lot and they sure could use one.

Sixty-eight scrappy little dogs were rescued from a burning house in Staten Island last month, where their owners had been hoarding them for years under questionable conditions.

The animals have now been put up for adoption by Animal Care and Control. According to their Web site, the rescued dogs make up a variety of small breeds, including poodles, Maltese, Shih Tzus, Pomeranians, and Pekingese. They range in age from puppies to seniors.

Four of the dogs will make an appearance at the Adoptapalooza event in Union Square on Sunday. DNAinfo.com reports that six have already been adopted as of Friday.
