The family of a New Jersey college student is frantically trying to find her after she disappeared and her purse was found near a Manhattan bridge.

Paige Aiello, 22, disappeared April 9, according to her parents.

The NYPD confirmed to Metro today they are searching for her within the city.

Friends from the College of New Jersey, where she attends, have written on Facebook pages to help find her. They say her purse and cell phone were found near the George Washington Bridge.

According to the Facebook page, someone called her parents to say she found the belongings on the walkway of the bridge Tuesday.

Her mother then reportedly noticed her car was taken without permission, and it was later found near a New Brunswick train station.

Thursday was Aiello’s 22nd birthday, according to the site, where people have been posting about searching and praying for her return.

Aiello’s parents told the New York Post that they were concerned she may have been struggling with depression or a breakdown.

“We’re trying to get through it — desperately trying to get through it,” her father, Chris Aiello, told the Post.
