A 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted inside the elevator of her apartment building on Sunday, police said.
The suspect, described as a man in his early 20s, approached the teen about 7:30 a.m. inside the South Jamaica Housing Development and followed her into the elevator, police said.
The man sexually assaulted the girl while inside the elevator. When the elevator reached the victim’s floor, she screamed for help and the suspect ran.
Police released surveillance footage of the suspect, who is described as about 5-foot-8 with a thin build. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black-and-white T-shirt and a black-and-white baseball cap.
