Good Samaritan stabbed outside Staten Island bar

A man arguing with his girlfriend outside a Staten Island bar last week stabbed a man who tried to intervene in the couple’s altercation, police said.

According to police, Dominick Belajonas, 23, was arguing with his girlfriend inside Rhythm and Brews Bar on Richmond Road about 3 a.m. on Jan. 26. The couple went outside and continued to argue. A 20-year-old man tried to intervene, and the suspect stabbed him twice in the back, police said.

Belajonas then fled the scene. The victim was transported to Staten Island University Hospital for treatment.

Police released a photo of Belajonas, who is described as 5-foot-8 and 180 lbs.
