Gov. Deval Patrick’s eldest daughter fell ill last night and remained in the hospital today.
News of 26-year-old Sarah Patrick’s illness spread shortly after the governor’s office sent out a revised public schedule at 9 a.m. that removed all of Patrick’s events today.
“Governor Patrick’s eldest daughter Sarah was hospitalized last night after becoming ill and temporarily disoriented while at dinner,” Brendan Ryan, the governor’s communication’s director said in a statement. “She is in stable condition and will remain in the hospital today for observation and further tests.”
Both Patrick and his wife cleared their schedules to be with their daughter, the statement said.
Sarah Patrick was having dinner in the Berkshires with Patrick’s youngest daughter Catherine when she became temporarily disoriented, according to the State House News Service. She was brought to a nearby hospital where she remained overnight.
Sarah Patrick lives with her husband in Richmond, where the Patrick’s also have a second home.
