Shayanna Jenkins, girlfriend of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez, will have access to what prosecutors claim she lied about in the investigation of Odin Lloyd’s murder.
The Boston Herald reports that a judge in a Fall River court told prosecutors on Wednesday that they have to specify what they think she lied about as she faces perjury charges stemming from her appearance before a grand jury.
“All I want to know is what was it she supposedly lied about,” defense attorney Janice Bassil told the court.
“We say most of that testimony is not credible and that’s what the grand jurors found,” said prosecutor William McCauley.
Jenkins’ attorney told Justice E. Susan Garsh that “the defendant is entitled to know in substance and effect what the defendant said that was untruthful.”
Garsh said that prosecutors must file papers stating which parts of the transcript are considered to be lies by Dec. 2.
Jenkins and Hernandez have a young child together, whom they were raising in Hernandez’s North Attleborough home, a short distance from where the body of football player Odin Lloyd was discovered.
