A fight between two men ended with one of them being stabbed on Boylston Street near the Boston Public Library Saturday night.
Boston police were called to the area of 715 Boylston St. at about 8:20 p.m. for a report of a person stabbed. Police said a 50-year-old man was stabbed and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to a local hospital.
The stabbing occurred after the victim and the alleged attacker, Stephen Gassett, 57, of Boston, got into some sort of fight, police said.
Gassett was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He will likely be arraigned Monday.
