Northeast Philadelphia man says he ‘accidentally’ shot girlfriend in forehead

A 36-year-old man was arrested early Sunday for “accidentally” shooting his girlfriend, police said.

Roger Morrison, of the 1400 block of Unity Street, met police, who were responding to a call for a shooting inside a residence, outside his home around 3:30 a.m.

He immediately told police that he “Accidentally shot his girlfriend.”

Police found the 26-year-old woman in bed with a gunshot to the forehead.

The woman is being treated at Einstein Hospital. She is currently in extremely critical condition.

Morrison was taken into custody without incident and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, violation of the uniform firearms act and related offenses, police said.
