More than 1 million people reportedly took to the streets of Manhattan for the annual Gay Rights Parade on Sunday afternoon.
Mayor Bill de Blasio and his family took part in the parade as well as New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and other city officials.
Laverne Cox of "Orange is the New Black" fame was one of the grandmasters of the parade along with actor Jonathan Groff. The parade started out on Fifth Avenue before ending at the Stonewall Inn.
This year commemorated the 45th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, a cornerstone of the modern Gay Rights movement that took place in 1969.
