A Roslindale man was seriously injured on Monday morning after the truck he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer on Route 9 in Chestnut Hill.
State police said the crash happened just before 7 a.m. on the westbound side of Route 9 near the Chestnut Hill Mall, state police said. The roadway was closed for nearly three hours as crews worked to free the man and clean up the wreck.
The truck became trapped under the tractor-trailer and no contact could be made with the driver, a 24-year-old man from Roslindale, when emergency personnel first arrived. He was eventually freed and taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The 34-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
State police are investigating the cause of the crash.
