Six people arrested, 11 guns recovered in North Philly drug bust

Police on Thursday arrested six people and confiscated 11 guns, along with marijuana, crack cocaine and Xanax from two homes in North Philadelphia.

Officers with the Narcotics Field Unit around 4:30 p.m. served search warrants on residences on the 3500 and 3700 blocks of North 7th Street.

They arrested Adriel Alvarado, 46; Yolanda Alvarado, 46; Alberto Alvarado, 24; Abraham Alvarado, 21; Alex Alvarado, 24 and Ayende Alvarado, 32.

Police also confiscated from the homes 534 grams of marijuana with an estimated street value of $5,340, two Xanax pills with an estimated street value of $20 and 5.2 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $520.

Investigators said officers found a veritable arsenal consisting of 11 guns – two 9mm Ruger handguns, a .38-caliber Taurus, a .25-caliber Raven arms pistol, a .25-caliber Beretta, a .38-caliber RG revolver, a Hi-Point .380 ACP, a Remington Field Master shotgun, an AK-47 assault rifle and a Daisy BB rifle.

The defendants are charged with conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, manufacture, delivery or possession of narcotics with the intent to manufacture or deliver and possession of an instrument of crime.

Ayende Alvarado, Abraham Alvarado and Alex Alvarado are also charged with firearms violations

All defendants are currently jailed in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
