Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with a robbery and assault on the Lower East Side last week.
Samuel Bell approached the 41-year-old victim inside her apartment building about 11 p.m. last Wednesday, police said. He told her to perform a sex act on him. When she refused, he grabbed her and she began to scream. Bell then took the woman's cell phone and wallet and fled the building.
Police say the victim had let Bell into the building because it looked like he was waiting to be buzzed in. Bell then hid behind a stairwell and waited for the victim while she checked her mailbox.
Bell has been charged with attempted criminal sex act, robbery, criminal possession of stolen property and assault.
