The makers of a hard cider are attempting to build the world’s largest ice luge in Boston.

The planned 25-foot high, 4-foot wide, 25,000-pound ice luge will be on display at the Seaport World Trade Center Thursday night during a promotional event. Unfortunately the free event, which is also featuring a performance by Chromeo, is no longer accepting RSVPs.

When the structure melts into about 1,800 gallons of water, the liquid will be used to hydrate the trees and flowers along the Johnny Appleseed Trail Association.

For those not able to attend the event, the world’s largest ice luge can check out Johnny Appleseed hard cider’s social media channels for video, including a time-lapse of the structure’s construction.
