Police have arrested a man in connection with a violent home invasion that terrified three people inside of a Brooklyn apartment last —monthincluding a nine year old boy.

Darrell Mackins, 36, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with first degree robbery.

Both Mackins and an accomplice allegedly entered the victims’ residence near Utica and Atlantic Avenues just after 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 19.

There, authorities said the men displayed a gun and struck one of the victims, a 40-year-old man, in the head. The two suspects then ordered him and two others in the home—a 36-year-old woman and the child—to lie on the ground.

The victims complied as the suspects removed a cell phone, wallet and about $325 before fleeing on foot.

The NYPD is still looking for the second suspect.
