Fallen detectives will have mortgages paid off

The Tunnels to Towers Foundation will pay off the mortgages of late Detective Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu.

The foundation has raised $860,000 in donations and another $150,000 in pledges. Chairman Frank Siller announced the organization had passed their $800,000 goal in just 10 days at a press conference Wednesday, which was attended by Ramos and Liu’s widows and families.

The additional money will go toward home repairs and renovations.
