A heart was discovered in a flower pot on Wednesday in the East Village, NYPD said.

NYPD said a resident reported the organ on Wednesday while trying to plant in a flower pot at 749 FDR Dr., Manhattan. The resident turned the flower pot over and a heart fell out of the soil, the spokeswoman said.

The heart was sent to the medical examiner to determine if the heart is animal or human, the NYPD spokeswoman said.
