You can do pretty much anything at a movie now — food is paired to scenes at Nitehawk Cinema's Film Feasts, Syndicated's bar serves themed cocktails before the evening's feature, and you can even "feel" the movie at Regal Union Square's new 4DX theater. And now, you can sing along, too.
Hudson River Park's RiverFlicks series of free outdoor movies, presented by Viacom, will return July 6 when Big Hit Wednesdays waste no time roaring back with Mad Max: Fury Road. Next up will be Family Fridays, beginning with Minions on July 8.
Then comes the first-ever Sing-Along Special on July 21 when Clinton Cove (at West 55th Street) erupts with Summer Lovin' for the original Grease as the featured presentation.
The free screenings are held weather permitting through Aug. 19. Showtime is always at dusk and the popcorn is free; other snacks and drinks are available for purchase. RiverFlicks is just one part of Hudson River Park's Summer of Fun, which includes over 160 free and low-cost events beginning May 21 with the return of Hudson River Park Games.
