One day can feel like a moment or an eternity, but they're all the same 24 hours — and a lot can change in between.
That's the theme of this year's Syfy Movies with a View, which returns to Brooklyn Bridge Park on July 9 with a series of movies that all take place within 24 hours. The movies span a pre-Star Wars John Boyega fighting aliens in Attack the Block (July 23) to the needs-no-introduction Dazed and Confused (Aug. 20). And, because Syfy has found a kind of cheese we love, Sharknado 2 screens on July 16 just in time for you to catch up on the franchise before the TV premiere of Sharnado 3: Oh Hell No! on July 22.
The free screenings take place Thursdays on Pier 1's Harbor View Lawn, and begin with music sets by DJs from Brooklyn Radio at 6 p.m., followed by short features curated by BAMcinématek before the main screening begins at sundown. Transportation Alternatives will provide free bike valet parking, courtesy of Spinlister.
Here's the lineup of films; visit the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy for details on the pre-show music and shorts.
